Vacancy Description

The Council's Economy and Growth team is seeking to recruit a full time Lead Flood Risk Management Officer. 

The postholder will play a key role in contributing to the effective delivery of the Council's statutory duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, including 

  • developing, maintaining and implementing the local flood risk management strategy for the area 
  • maintaining a register of flood risk assets 
  • helping to manage flood risk from tidal, surface water and groundwater. 

You will work closely with the Council's delivery partner Engie, the Environment Agency and other key stakeholders to achieve these objectives.

You should hold a degree-level qualification in planning, sustainable development or flood risk management or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills or experience in flood risk management.
